HETQUENIL is used to prevent and treat acute attacks of malaria. HETQUENIL is a class of drugs called antimalarials. It works by killing the organisms that cause malaria. HETQUENIL may work to treat rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus by decreasing the activity of the immune system.
HETQUENIL is indicated for the treatment of uncomplicated malaria due to P. falciparum, P. malariae, P. ovale, and P. vivax. HETQUENIL is indicated for the treatment of chronic discoid lupus erythematosus and systemic lupus erythematosus in adults. HETQUENIL is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic rheumatoid arthritis in adults.
