Composition:
Fluconazole (150 mg)
Gocan 150 mg Tablet contains fluconazole, a synthetic triazole broad-spectrum antifungal medicine. It inhibits the 14-alpha-sterol-demethylase enzyme, thereby blocking the synthesis of ergosterol, an important component of the fungal cell membrane. This prevents fungi from multiplying and may cause them to die. It is not effective against bacterial or viral infections but is used to treat various fungal infections affecting the skin, lungs, mouth, throat, meninges, and other parts of the body.
Gocan 150 mg Tablet provides an oral treatment option for fungal infections that may not be adequately treated with topical medicines. It is commonly used for vaginal yeast infections, for which a single dose may sometimes be prescribed. The doctor determines the appropriate dose and duration based on the type and severity of the infection. Stopping treatment too early may cause the infection to return.
Common side effects may include stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, rash, headache, and nausea. If signs of an allergic reaction occur, stop taking the medicine and seek medical attention. Gocan 150 mg Tablet should generally be avoided during pregnancy unless specifically prescribed by a doctor after evaluating the potential benefits and risks.
