Tirofiban Hydrochloride Injection is an antiplatelet medication used to prevent blood clot formation in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) or those undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). It works by blocking glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptors on platelets, thereby inhibiting platelet aggregation.
It is administered intravenously (IV infusion) in hospital settings and is commonly used along with heparin and aspirin to reduce the risk of heart attack or complications related to coronary artery disease.
