Iguvic (Iguratimod) can inhibit in vitro nuclear factor-kB(NF-kB) activity, thereby inhibiting inflammatory cytokines (Inter Leukin 1, Inter Leukin -6, IL -8, tumor necrosis factor ∝) generation. Iguratimod is also shown in vitro to directly interact and inhibit the generation of immunoglobulin. Iguratimod inhibit purified cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) activity (IC50=7.7µg/ml), but the cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) activity has no effect.
Iguvic (Iguratimod) is indicated for the treatment of active rheumatoid arthritis symptoms
