About Office Oz Tablet

Office OZ Tablets is a dual-action antimicrobial combination of Ofloxacin 200 mg and Ornidazole 500 mg formulated to treat a broad spectrum of bacterial and parasitic infections. Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, targets both gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens, while Ornidazole, a nitroimidazole, acts against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. Together, they deliver synergistic efficacy across mixed infections affecting the gastrointestinal tract, reproductive system and other body sites.

Usage Instructions

  • Office OZ is available on prescription only.
  • This Tablets is prescribed to treat mixed bacterial and parasitic infections.
  • It also helps in the management of infections where both aerobic and anaerobic pathogens are suspected.
  • The dosage, frequency, and duration of therapy are determined by the treating physician based on the nature of the infection, severity and individual patient parameters.

Benefits and Use

  • Office OZ Tablets addresses mixed infections, where both bacteria and protozoa are implicated.
  • Ofloxacin disrupts bacterial DNA synthesis, effectively eliminating gram-positive and gram-negative organisms, while Ornidazole penetrates anaerobic and protozoal cells to halt replication.
  • This combination is particularly effective in gastrointestinal infections, gynaecological infections, pelvic inflammatory disease, and post-surgical prophylaxis.
  • The complementary mechanisms of both active ingredients reduce the risk of treatment failure and help restore recovery across complex, polymicrobial infection scenarios.

Safety Information

  • Pregnancy:
  • Office OZ Tablets is not recommended during pregnancy, particularly in the first trimester, as Ofloxacin may affect foetal cartilage development. Use only if the physician determines the potential benefit outweighs the risk to the foetus.
  • Breastfeeding:
  • Ofloxacin is excreted into breast milk and may cause adverse effects in nursing infants. Breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment, or an alternative therapy should be considered.
  • Alcohol:
  • Avoid the intake of alcohol while using Ornidazole, as it may trigger a disulfiram-like reaction, causing flushing, nausea, and rapid heartbeat. Patients must avoid alcohol consumption throughout the treatment period and for at least 48 hours after the last dose.
  • Kidney Disorders:
  • The active ingredients of the Office Oz Tablets are renally excreted and may accumulate in patients with impaired kidney function, increasing the risk of adverse effects. Your physician will evaluate your dose adjustment for moderate to severe renal impairment. Use only under close medical supervision.
  • Lung Disorders:
  • Patients with pre-existing pulmonary conditions should inform their physician before commencing therapy.
